Started by neighbors.

Move To Help began in 2019 — not as a charity, but as a small group of neighbors quietly pooling money to help families they knew personally. Covering groceries when someone lost a job. Paying funeral costs when a family couldn't afford burial. Helping with rent during a hard month.

Then crisis began arriving from further out — earthquakes, storms, displacement, war. The same neighbors started sending aid to Pakistan, then to Syrian refugee families displaced into Turkey, then Afghanistan, then Gaza and Sudan as the crises came.

Today, Move To Help works through verified local partners on the ground in every region — including the Egyptian Food Bank for Gaza-bound aid through Cairo, distribution networks responding to the UN-declared famine in Darfur, Turkish partner NGOs serving Syrian refugee families in camps and host communities, ration distribution networks in Afghanistan, and a sponsored orphanage in Islamabad, Pakistan.

The model has stayed the same since that first funeral: 100% of public donations go directly to the families. Operations are funded separately. No middlemen. Just neighbors helping neighbors — at scale.

The UN Human Rights Office documented over 200 Palestinians killed — including dozens of children — in the months following. Is my donation Zakat-eligible?

Yes. Our aid distribution programs meet the eight categories of Zakat distribution as defined in Quran 9:60. When donating, you can specify your gift as Zakat in the cause selector, and we will track and distribute it accordingly. Zakat funds are kept separate from general operations and distributed only to verified eligible recipients.

Can I make a recurring monthly donation?

Monthly recurring donations are coming soon. For now, all donations are one-time. Even a single $100 donation feeds a family for a full week. We'll email donors when recurring is available.

How is my donation tracked once deployed?

You'll receive a deployment confirmation by email within 72 hours of your donation. We're launching monthly aggregate impact reporting with our next field cycle. For major gifts ($2,500+), our team can arrange a personal briefing with the relevant program manager — just reply to your donation receipt to request one.

Are you affiliated with any political organization?

No. Move To Help Foundation is a strictly humanitarian, non-political 501(c)(3) organization. We do not endorse, support, or fund any political party, faction, or armed group. Our work is exclusively focused on direct humanitarian aid to civilians affected by conflict, displacement, and natural disaster.

Where does Move To Help operate?

We operate exclusively in Gaza, Sudan, Turkey (serving Syrian refugees), Afghanistan, and Pakistan, working through verified local partner NGOs in compliance with all applicable OFAC general licenses for humanitarian assistance. We do not operate in Iran, North Korea, Cuba, or any other comprehensively sanctioned jurisdiction. All aid distributions are limited to civilian populations through partners that comply with US Treasury Department regulations.
